Nearest shop to browse in?

The Scottish Arts and Antique Centre in Abernyte (gift shop, clothing, furniture and antiques) and also there are more antique type shops behind The Tufted Duck in Rait.

Nearest Supermarket?

We recommend Tesco on Riverside Drive, Dundee. It is open 24 hours and is easy to find. Head towards Dundee, continue towards City Centre, you will be following the River Tay. It is located on your left soon after you drive under the Railway Bridge but before you get to the Road Bridge. If you overshoot there is a mini roundabout so you can come back to it.

Nearest café?

Café Circa in the Scottish Arts and Antique Centre in Abernyte or The Tufted Duck café in Rait village - both are open 10 am until about 4pm.

Nearest A&E?

Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.

Do you accept pets?

No pets I am afraid are permitted in the Cabins. However, pets are welcome in the cottages - maximum of 2 dogs.

Wellness gym and sauna, Tennis court, Games Room - Do we need to pay extra or book these shared facilities?

There is no extra charge for these facilities, in practice you just go in and use them when they are available. If you want to book for a specific time, there is a whiteboard you can add your name to for a slot. Bear in mind if you want the sauna for a specific time you need to have started the fire in the wood burner a good 2.5 hours before and keep making sure you fill it up to get the temperature up.

Wood

We do not currently charge for wood, please don’t waste our wood, we buy in wood and also use our own 3 year dried wood, felled, logged and dried on site.

Fireworks, chinese lanterns etc?

Not permitted.

Wifi

We have wifi in the cottages and in the area around the cottages, but not in the cabins.

Do I need a car?

You can taxi here from Perth or Dundee bus or railway stations, if you need to, but really a car is pretty essential. We are an 8 minute drive from the nearest village with a shop, Inchture. There is a local taxi firm that would need to be pre-booked and then of course there are taxi companies in Perth and Dundee.

Plane/Rail/Bus connections

Dundee airport is our nearest airport at only 20 minutes away by car, Edinburgh is just over an hour (with good traffic conditions). Dundee and Perth have rail and bus stations about 20/25 minutes away from us (by car). Our postcode is PH14 9RA to find us on google maps.

Is there Walking on site?

Loads of paths on site and forestry commission trails within 10 minutes of here by car. Also look up Perthshire Core Paths if you want to walk from your doorstep and avoid getting in a car.

Water supply, this is private, how will that affect me?

Our water supply is a private supply that comes from the hills, it has no additives. We have a water treatment facility on the farm for all water. It is filtered and goes through a UV zapper to make it conform to legislation for drinking. It is generally recommended that young children or those with low immune systems drink bottled water that is provided free of charge in our games room onsite – even brushing teeth with bottled water is recommended. There is no need whatsoever to use bottled water in the kettles.

Supermarket deliveries?

The address to select is Outfield Farm when you see the choice. All major supermarkets deliver here, please make sure that you will be in and that the delivery driver has your mobile phone number. If there is a section for additional information be sure to explain you are in a holiday cottage up at Outfield Farm - cabins might be trickier, and deliveries maybe need to be cleared with us so you can collect from our house.
